NEMRUT BAY

* We have received reports that the owners of bulk carrier, NEMRUT BAY have now declared GA as a consequence of the vessel grounded on 21 June 2023 while approaching to its destination at Vung Tau, Vietnam.

* It is reported that the vessel failed to refloat despite several attempts. Consequently, lightering is scheduled to be completed on 13 July 2023, and the lighter will proceed to the discharge port.

*General Average security will now also be required from all Cargo Interests prior to the delivery of their cargo.

* We are already instructed by certain Cargo Insurers and we are currently seeking to agree the terms of the GA security to be provided with Average Adjusters. We may also be able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any third party costs which may need to be incurred in handling this case, including investigative costs.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
